What is the difference between the "complete" and "accepted" status?

What is the difference between the "complete" and "accepted" status? I sent an invoice free form to a trading partner which has moved from "in transit" to "complete." I need to send many more of these but I want to make sure the "complete" status lets me it was done correctly.

Thank you for posting in the Support Center! That's a great question!

First, both "Complete" and "Accepted" for your sent documents mean that they successfully reached your trading partner. I did look at your specific invoice and made sure that it was accepted by your Buyer.

The main difference relates to the workflow associated with the document. In the case of your connection with Costco, you send several documents per order (or per Workflow), so each of those documents will have an "Accepted" status. Once you send all documents for a Costco order, the PO status will go to "Complete," since the whole workflow is then completed.

For your Free-Form Invoice, there are no other documents in the workflow, so when that one document is sent and accepted, it goes to a status of "Complete" to mark the whole workflow as completed. This happens on the Invoice because it's the only document--there is no PO to mark complete.

Hi,

Thanks for the explanation.    I am having trouble with same but in my case, all are free form for Sobeys West Canada.    What I am seeing is that some are saying accepted and some just say complete.    

From what you are saying is that if there is no PO associated with the free form it will only register complete in status?  So why am I seeing both complete and accepted.   Using a template to submit all so all the same form.
