WebForms Browser Optimization and Troubleshooting

Overview:
Are you having trouble viewing orders in your account?  Are they appearing blank when you go to view them or print them out?  If you are having a similar issue, it may be a problem with your browser settings.  SPS Commerce WebForms is fully supported on Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, however, Google Chrome can also be leveraged using the IE tabs Add-on. Below are setting to verify/setup for each of the browsers mentioned above.

Internet Explorer:
Internet Explorer may or may not require a few specific settings in order to view documents in your WebForms account.  It will depend on which version of IE you are using.
  • Compatibility View: One step to take if you are having issues it to try viewing in compatibility view.  You can find this option located under the tools menu.  Please follow the steps in this posting if you would like assistance adding SPS Commerce to compatibility view settings.
  • Trusted Sites:  You may need to add the SPS Commerce websites to your trusted sites. To do this go to 'Tools' then 'Internet Options.  On this screen navigate to the security tab and click on the trusted sites check mark, then click 'Sites'. Next add the following sites (you may copy and paste): *.hosted-commerce.net      *.spscommerce.net     *.cloudfront.net     You may need to un-check the 'Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone' box.  Once you add these three sites, refresh your browser (you may need to restart it) and try viewing your documents.
  • Add-ons: In order to load forms properly, you will want to verify your java plug-ins are active.  To do this, navigate to tools, then manage add-ons.  Here you should see two java plug-ins and they should be set to enabled.  If you recently downloaded java you may be prompted when you load forms for the first time to enable these.


Firefox:
Mozilla Firefox is our recommended browser when using WebForms.  Firefox requires very few settings to be adjusted in order for WebForms to function properly. 
  • Add-ons:  Once you have java installed, you will need to make sure the java plug-ins are active.  If you recently installed java, you should be prompted the first time you load forms to enable the java plug in.  To check if the java plug-ins are active click the dropdown menu in the upper right-hand corner and choose 'Add-ons'. Once in this menu, choose 'Plug-ins' to view the two java plug-ins and verify they are active.
                                                     


Google Chrome:
Google Chrome is a versatile browser that works well with WebForms, though it is not fully supported at this time, most WebForms functions will perform perfectly in the Chrome browser.  One known issue is viewing document stylesheets.  Without an add-on, the documents appear blank in the printable screens. 
  • IE Tabs Add-on:  You can view stylesheets by installing the IE Tabs Add-on.  Once this add-on is added and installed, refresh your browser (you may need to restart it) and you should now be able to view/print documents.
