Hi-My name is Krista with Simpson Electric Company.  We have over 10,000 items uploaded in the universal catalog with MSC.  I need to update about 3,000 of them.  Please let me know what the best way to do this is.  Thank you.

Hello Krista!

The best way to update your Universal Catalog v7 in this instance would ideally start with a 'Master Spreadsheet' containing the 10,000+ items with their most up-to-date data.  If you have this, best practice would be to simply update the ~3,000 items' prices in the Master, then save and upload the updated Master to your Universal Catalog v7 (no need to Edit/Remove the other 7,000+ items).  This way, your Master spreadsheet on your end, as well as the item data your trading partners receive, will be the most up-to-date!

Please let me know if you have any concerns or clarifying questions regarding this Reply!

Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe-

I have the master file which I uploaded when we originally put everything in the catalog.  Is that the file I use and just change the prices on the 3,000 items and then upload the whole thing again, all 10,000 parts?

You've got it! The one thing you'll want to be sure to confirm is that the data on that version of the master file is up-to-date (matches what you have uploaded in Universal Catalog v7) for all other fields besides those 3,000 prices.
