Beginning on June 19th, 2015, using an IP address to connect via FTP to SPS Commerce will no longer be supported. Please update your connection and firewall rules to use the following DNS records: ftp.spscommerce.net, ftps.spscommerce.net, sftp.spscommerce.net.  You can make this change any time before June 19th, 2015.  If you are already using the DNS record, there is no action required on your part.

Q. Does this affect me?
A. If you connect to SPS Commerce hosted FTP and have an IP address in the connection string, then yes. Webforms customers are not affected. Non SPS hosted FTP solutions are not affected.

Q. Can I make this change prior to June 19th?
A. Yes. This is encouraged.

Q. Why should I change my FTP Connection to SPS to use a DNS record instead of a direct IP address?
A. If you use the DNS record (URL), you will never need to change it. SPS will no longer be using a static IP address for our hosted solution. This supports SPS' regional and global growth of our products and customer network.  Updating your connection to use a DNS record will allow a seamless experience without disrupting your dataflow.

Q. Is using the DNS record instead of IP address secure?
A. Yes. It has the same security as using the IP address.

Q. I connect via a VPN tunnel. Does this change apply to me?
A. No. You do not need to change your connection method at this time.
