Hi Dario,

If you plan to run Windows 8 on the workstations we have found that Mozilla Firefox has had less compatibility issues with WebForms.  However, if you would prefer to use the 64 bit version of IE in Windows 8 you will want to download the Java plugin from 64bit IE to ensure that it is the 64 bit version of Java is installed.  If you end up using Firefox then the 32 bit version of Java would be needed.  Please let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Matt, thanks for your reply. IE 8 is supposed to be the standard for each workstation. I believe the auto update is loading the 64 bit Java plug in.

Thanks.

Hi Robin,

If by freezing you mean forms not loading in Internet Explorer in Windows 8 there are a couple of possible causes.  If the latest Java update was installed over a previous version that can create issues.  Typically, we advise to uninstall any existing Java plugins prior to installing the latest version.  Also, if the pop up blocker is enabled in Internet Explorer that will affect the ability of the forms to load in some cases.  If possible we have found Mozilla Firefox has the best WebForms compatibility with Windows 8.

WIndows 7 IE 11 webforms not loading

We had recently updated 3 workstations in our office to the new IE 11. Webforms would not load on this if left "out-of-the-box" settings, so I found this thread. We found a way to get IE 11 on Windows 7 to work. Besides turning off the pop-up blocker and loading the 64bit Java (which you have to really search for), then open IE 11 and load the hosted-commerce.net website. Then you need to go to Tools/Compatibility View settings/ and add hosted-commerce.net to the websites. We did that and......voila.......the webforms loaded just like they did in the past.

Hi Randy. Thanks for the response. It still crashes my IE. SPS response is to load Mozilla - but who wants to have to use a 3rd browser??? Very frustrating.
