SCAC codes areadditional information associated with a shipping method in Great Plains.  When you send your customers Invoices orAdvanced Shipped Notifications the SCAC code is part of the information sent tothe customer.  It is important tocomplete the SCAC information for each shipping method that you will use for SPS for GP documents, including the special ‘DROP SHIP’ shippingmethod.

SCAC code informationfor can be entered through the shipping method setup window in GreatPlains.  You can access this window bynavigating to Microsoft Dynamics GP -> Tools -> Setup -> Company ->Shipping Methods.  This should bring upthe shipping method window with SCAC code information on it as well as shownbelow.

If you are on GP 2010 and do not see this information thenyou need to go into ‘Alternate/Modified Forms and Windows” and make sure the SPS for GP shipping method is selected as the default window.  If you are on GP 2013 then the SPS for GP/EDI information is access through ‘Additional -> EDI Information’ atthe top of the window.

It is important to fill out the Description/Carrier/Carrier SCACCode and Carrier Trans Code information for the entry to be complete.

If you get an error message from SPS Commerce that ‘CarrierInformation’ is not set or not correct, this is the window which allows you toverify and enter that information.
