We have been having trouble with Out of Stock acknowledgments going to Petco. We acknowledge them as detail & change and then change the quantity to 0. It will still show as an open order with Petco, what else should we be doing.

Hello,

So the order will not automatically close after sending that acknowledgement as out of stock. If you do need to close that order I recommend manually closing the order.

You can manually close it by pulling up that order and in the top right there will be a few icons and one of those with the X in it, sorry bad description, and that will allow you to close the workflow and the order in your fulfillment.

Jeff,

I gave it a try and closed 5 orders yesterday for Petco, this afternoon I received their open order report with those 5 orders still there.

I received the following information from Petco

Petco.com Out Of Stock (OOS) Guidelines

If your item is permanently discontinued and OOS:

·         Contact your Merchant so the item can be removed from our site.

·         Return the EDI 855 transaction with the acknowledged quantity = zero ("IA" =0)

·   ACK 01 = IA

·   ACK 02 = 0

·   ACK 05 = 20501231 or at least one year from the order date

·         Remove item from your daily EDI 846 transaction report

If your item is temporarily OOS:

As per the Drop Ship Agreement, all orders must be shipped and invoiced within seven calendar days of receipt. If you are not able to ship within seven days, please follow the instructions below:

·         Return the EDI855 with the acknowledged quantity = zero ("IA" = 0)

·         ACK 01 = IA

·         ACK 02 = 0

·         ACK 05 = 20501231 or at least one year from the order date

Do you think we should type IA  for zero quantities, it states the same description above for permanently discontinued and temporarily OOS items.

I asked Petco if I should type IA, they said to contact our EDI team.

Thanks for your help

I think if you do not plan on shipping on that order the acknowledgement should be rejecting the item. That should show the orders as closed on Petco's side. If you do plan on shipping that PO just at a later date when it is no longer out of stock then I would follow the above steps accordingly.

Thank you for your reply, maybe I closed the orders the night before too late to be updated in their system today - hope so anyway.
