SPS Commerce FTP Changes

SPS Commerce is migrating their FTP endpoints to a newer and more resilient infrastructure. The new FTP endpoints will provide up to a 50% performance increase for file transmissions and are available for use today. The old endpoints will run in parallel until September 2018 to give you a chance to change your configuration. In September 2018, SPS will decommission the old IP addresses & endpoints. If your configuration has not been changed prior to that date, you will not be able to connect to SPS Commerce and your documents will not flow in and out.

Summary of the Changes
The old and new DNS records and IP addresses are provided below. From a technical perspective, the DNS record is a pointer to the IP address. Unless your FTP client software does not allow it, please use the DNS record and not the IP address. We recommend you update/migrate your configurations as soon as possible with this new information.

OLD                                                                NEW (    ( (  ( (  (

If no action is taken, and your current FTP configuration connects to the IP addresses instead of DNSrecords, you will be left unable to connect after we decommission them. Upon decommissioning the old endpoints, we will be updating the old DNS records to point at the new IP addresses. We urge you to take action and switch ahead of time, so you can test your system before the old endpoints are no longer available.

What You Need to Do Now
The FTP connection can be established in different ways. The three methods noted below are those used by the MAPADOC implementation consultants. It is possible that your EDI or IT team decided to use a different method. If that is the case, please share this information with them so they can ensure the change is implemented prior to September 2018.
