I am brand new to EDI and have been made the main EDI contact at work.  Where can I go to learn how to read the raw data in easy terms?

Hi Chrissy,

The standards organization in America that documents the EDI standards is ASC X12.  There's an associated company that sells copies of the standards which can be found at the following URL, http://store.x12.org/store/.  The companies that your company exchanges EDI with may have EDI specification documents but, these are typically limited in content to only the parts of the standard that they use.  This is useful but, doesn't provide the full content of the standard in terms of available codes and qualifiers that can be used with a transaction.

Regards, Ken

Hello,

Thank you for posting in the Support Center!

I would also recommend taking a look at our Training and Education section of the Support Center.  There are Webinars that may be helpful for document creation and also a spot to scheudle one on one time with an trainer for specific questions you may have.  Otherwise, you can always work with the Support Team to identify any issues the data may be having or to request your trading partner's EDI specifications if those would be helpful.

Thank you,
