I am a member of my company's IT department and I wanted to report a warning message I received (and our users) when accepting to run Java (since the last 7.45 update) for your site. In the dialogue box in yellow it notes the following message "This application will be blocked in future Java security update because the JAR file manifest does not contain the permissions attribute. Please contact the Publisher for more information..."

We are also dealing with this issue for customer service reps who use other companies Java applications. It literally is preventing the user from using the application. So I want to be proactive before the next Java update and then users are locked out of the SPS system as well. The temporary workaround we have those select users using is opening those Java programs/websites in Firefox instead of IE 9 (the version we have on our servers currently).

Thank you,

Hi Willie!

Thanks for posting in our Support Center! I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with the newest version of java. I know we have seen some issues with WebForms functions not working properly with the newest java update and at time have needed to revert customers back to a previous version of java that performs better. I recommend trying version 7 update 11 as we have had good results with that. You can also try uninstalling version 7 update 45 and re-installing that again to see if that corrects the issue.

Another step you could try if reverting back or re-installing isn't an option is to clear both the java and the browser temporary internet files. Sometimes this can clean up those types of error messages.

Please let me know if you have any questions regarding these solutions or if you would like to setup a phone call so we can troubleshoot. There are also some additional java related troubleshooting videos available here.
