With the most recent update to Java, we have encountered more systems blocking it from running on our website.  As they removed the "Medium" security setting, we have modified our troubleshooting steps and have had success with the below steps.  The picture immediately below is the message that we generally see when security is blocking WebForms from loading a document.

If you run into this error in WebForms it is a pretty standard fix. The
reason that this error occurs is because our Java files are stored on
two different servers.  Occasionally, Java will block multiple locations from accessing
your computer at once.

Step 1: Access your Java Control Panel by clicking on the "Start" menu, typically in the lower-lefthand side of your screen.  Select Control Panel on the right-hand side.  If you see eight icons, select Programs followed by Java.  If you see numerous icons, select Java.  Once the cJava console loads, select the Security tab.  With the most recent update, you will notice that "Very High" and "High" are the two security levels.  Ensure that "high" is selected and click "Edit Site List."

Step 2: Add sites our website to the Exception Site List (See Red Box).  We advise copying the below URLs and using Control + V to paste into the Excepting Site List lines to avoid any manual errors.

https://*.cloudfront.net

https://*.hosted-commerce.net

https://wfds.hosted-commerce.net

Step 3: Restart the browser and try again.

If you continue to encounter issues, please clear your temporary internet files.

Hi Jay,

I sincerely apologize for the troubles in contacting our support team yesterday.  As I am sure you have seen here on our Support Center, there was quite the rush for support, resulting in longer hold times as well as a busy signal at times.  Obviously this is not ideal, but something we did our best to address here - we do take hold times seriously and are working hard to catch up.

I would like to point out our chat feature, in the event that there is an increase in call volumes.  To access the chat function, please go to the home Support Center screen and select Contact Us along the right hand side.  You should have the option to select chat, followed by WebForms Support.  I mention this not to deter you or anyone from calling, but to offer a secondary option should your preferred method of contact be difficult.

I can tell you that today's volumes are better.

Again, our apologies here.

All the best,

Jordan

Good evening everyone,

I would like to begin by acknowledging the frustration here, it is 100% understandable.  The update to our certificate led to a tough day as far as Java is concerned.  Please note that I will loop back to this thread in the morning and address individual posts to ensure a resolution is found.

For those who have resolved the issue, feel free to "Unfollow" this thread in the upper right-hand portion of the screen to discontinue any email updates.

I have received word from our Technology team that it is believed a patch has been put into place to eliminate the need to add sites to the exception list of the Java console, as of about an hour ago or so.  While I have not been able to test myself, I wanted to pass this news along.

As stated, I will be sure we respond to individual comments to ensure we are doing what we can to get your forms loading.

I appreciate your patience and look forward to connecting in the morning.

All the best,

Jordan

Good morning everyone,

I am sorry to hear that people are still running into issues, how frustrating!  At this point, we have seen the above solution work specifically to the new error seen yesterday.  Beyond that, there can be multiple reasons for Java errors.  Would you mind calling out support team at 1-888-739-3232 option 1, 1, or chat in to our team, whichever is easiest for you.  To access the chat function, please go to the home Support Center screen and select Contact Us along the right hand side.  You should have the option to select chat, followed by WebForms Support.

I do not like to redirect posts, however outside of the above solution, there are numerous issues we may run into.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help further.

I'm not getting a blocked pop. I get a notification to update Java. But there is a plug-in that is supposed to run but it no longer can with the new update. I tried the new update and the screen will just sit there and load. The windows for invoices and ASN's never comes up. I can only get it to load because I'm using Chrome and the plug-in that is there will eventually be gone. Something else needs to be updated i think. Let's hope Oracle can get this together.

My problem is basically the same. It brings up the PO Acknowledgement in Chrome but I get the message that the plugin will soon be outdated. IE is a different story though. I have updated to the newest version of IE 11, uninstalled and reinstalled java, added the 4 different sites into the exceptions manager in the Java console, and set the security settings to high, changed my security settings in IE also just to troubleshoot it. Now in IE the PO Acknowledgement will come up but I'm also getting the Java error message (not like the one above but one with a gray UI bar around it that says to update Java).

Ben,

First of all - glad to hear you are able to load forms.  In the end, that is what is important.  I, too, receive the message to update Java when loading in Internet Explorer, yet my form loads over the top.  I have not seen a solution for this at this point, but the form should load regardless of the box.  You can certainly contact our Support Team at 1-888-739-3232, option 1, 1 as they would be able to get on a desktop share and look at Java settings.

Thank you,
Jordan

Why in the view orders you can see ones that are marked "change" and the ones mark "order" never load? I've done all the above adding the addresses in Java (including the"/") and deleted all history and cookies. Please help!

Hi Brian,

Thank you for your post.  To clarify, are you looking to load a form from the "order" via the orange next-steps arrow (ie. Purchase Order Acknowledgement, Invoice, etc)?  Or are you looking to load the physical Purchase Order?

Thanks

Correct the physical purchase order

Got it, thank you for helping clarify!  The physical orders actually will not use Java (confusing, I know).  This article should solve your problem for you.  Not all is lost, however, as the above solution will help smooth the process of loading forms such as an Invoice going forward.

Please let me know if you have further questions or if the above link does not solve your issue.

Happy Friday!

Jordan,

The address for compatibility keeps getting removed now when exiting Windows. Any idea why this is happening now?

I do believe I know what is going on here.  If you go to your Internet Options (from the Tools menu), check to see if the below option is checked.  By having this option checked, Internet Explorer will remove any sites added to compatibility view each and every time you exit the browser.  If this is not checked, let me know and I can dig deeper into IE.

Thanks!

Adding the sites to the java list worked for us, except that since then we are unable to print multiple orders at the same time.  When we select multiple orders and press the print button, the print preview window opens but is blank.  We also followed these instructions but still no luck as of yet.  Any ideas?

Hi Joe,

Sorry to hear that!  Do you mind me asking which browser you are in?  That will give me a good start here.

Thank you,

Joe,

I greatly apologize for not getting back to you sooner here.  I did try numerous combinations in your WebForms account on my end, all of which provided me with a full print preview window.  It sounds like there may be a difference in settings with Internet Explorer.  Would you mind calling our WebForms Support Team at 1-888-739-3232, option 1, 1 so that they can take a more in-depth look?  Additionally, we have a chat function from the "Contact Us" section on the right-hand side of our Support Center homepage, whichever contact method you prefer.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns with this!

Happy Friday,

Jordan

Hope this is of some help, I'm replying in this post as this was one link I came across during troubleshooting with webforms, (initially thinking it was a Java related issues) although it may be posted elsewhere where others may have a problem title "Webforms comes up blank" perhaps.

My client had suddenly issues for no reason without any changes in her workstation, or updates etc. as I manage their IT, I tried Java updates thinking it must be the issue, eventually doing even a system restore to before Java 8.45 and other windows updates, even reinstalling to Java 8.51 clean, and making the suggested changes for Java exceptions, as well as cleaning up the IE cache/Chrome cache/history settings, the whole works. Still no success.

Then I decided to try it on my own laptop with Firefox - bam, worked straightaway. Installed firefox on my client's PC, and right away was able to print the Purchase Order. I understand there is some concern on firefox wasting paper, but it's a lesser evil.

Anyhow, may be of help if it saves someone time, all the best.

Thank you for posting, Mike!  I am sorry you had to go through all that trouble prior to switching to Firefox.  Firefox seems to run very smooth with WebForms, and it continues that way for you and your client.

Again, I really appreciate the post!  Do not hesitate to let us know if you have nay further issues.

Best,

Jordan
