When I print the form, there is "Notes/Comments/Special Instructions" shown, but I don't see where I can complete this area online.

I need to be able to communicate the issue with their PO received via EDI.

Good afternoon Melinda,

Thanks for posting your question.

When you print the PO Acknowledgement, the view that you are printing is what we call the "stylesheet", or a human readable view of the information that is contained in the PO Acknowledgement. For each type of document (PO Acknowledgement, ASN, etc.), we have a general stylesheet template, which displays the possible fields that are commonly contained in that type of document.

In the general PO Acknowledgement stylesheet, we have a section for "Notes/Comments/Special Instructions" because many retailers have such a field. However, AAFES does not have this option. The specifications for the AAFES PO Acknowledgement do not contain Notes/Comments/Special Instructions, thus it is not a field that you can fill out on the POA form, even though you still see the section on the stylesheet.

As a consequence, if there is additional information that you need to communicate to AAFES about this PO, then you will need to contact AAFES directly, outside of EDI.

I hope this explanation helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Bryan,

I have the same question regarding Academy Sports and Outdoors. We have recently received a call from the vendor explaining that we have to put a UCC/EAN-128 label on every carton to specify the There is a comment section in the label the vendor sent us as an example but I don't see a way to modify that to add our own comments to the label in SPS Commerce. We need to specify for the warehouse team a comment section to reflect the SKU number of the item they need to pull to match the UPC barcode on the label that does not currently specify a SKU description. The vendor has told me this is possible and other customers do it and he doesn't understand the issue. Can you please explain to me how I can modify the comments section on the shipping label under the "shipment" related documents section?

Thanks,
Stacey

Hello again Stacey!

I just spoke with Matt and he advised me of the resolution that came from your conversation. He referred the issue so that you will be able to have that comment section source from the ASN properly. For now, your work around would be using the color, size and width fields to write descriptions for the items on the ASN that will appear on the label.

I'm glad to see that the work around will work until the long-term resolution is in place!

Have a wonderful day!

Thanks Stephanie for replying. Matt has showed me how to go in into the drafts of my inbox, edit and use the unlocked fields to display as much information as possible for the time being. So I believe this will get us by for now. Then he is escalating the issue of unlocking the COMMENT Section to your development team and managers so they can map the needed information for us, at the highest priority to be able to unlock and use that section. Yes, I do believe this will work for us until a long-term resolution is in place. Thank you again for the quick response. Great customer service.
