Is it possible to UPLOAD the details of my PO? Instead of hand keying in the webforms with the carton number, EAN and qty (among other things) I want to take the CSV or XLS exported from my WMS and load these details. This would eliminate a LOT of hours spent hand keying something we already have in electronic form.

Specifically referring to Macy's in this case.

Good afternoon Jerod,

My colleague Brei is taking a look at your account and is responding to your email with some more details, but I just wanted to summarize here.

I certainly understand the desire to want to eliminate as much manual data entry as possible, since this costs time and creates the possibility of human error. Using WebForms, you should be able to take advantage of a number of features to optimize the process of creating ASN's. For example, you can use defaults, lookup defaults, and auto-complete to help fill in any information that does not come from the PO onto the ASN form. Feel free to take a look at those topics here on the Support Center, or contact our WebForms support team and we will be happy to assist further.

Please remember that WebForms is a web-based product, and by nature has several limitations in terms of how much you can integrate it with your WMS. For a more integrated option, you will want to take advantage of our File Integration solution. I see that you currently have a File Integration implementation project for the Macys 856 in the works. Please work with your Project Manager here at SPS to get further details as to the status of that project.

I hope this helps! Let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Thank you for the response! I tracked down the folks working that project and they are evidently attempting to feed this data from our ERP system. I will put myself in the middle of the project to see if we can help get this moving along or see where we are at with it.

Along these lines, In WebForms is there a way to INPUT instead of SELECT the EAN/Item number? After creating the container ID (Pack Info) and then adding the Item Info you are presented with 500+ lines to scroll through and find the EAN(s) you want to assign to that container ID.
If there was a way to type in all or part of the number then it would save some people from going crosseyed.

When selecting items in the Item Info area, there is not a way to input the item, unfortunately. You will have to select the items from the list.

I would like to get an idea of your process to better understand why you need to assign items to specific container ID's. Are you using your own program that generates your shipping labels?

WebForms is capable of automatically assigning container ID's to your items along with generating the GS1-128 labels if you like. In order to have WebForms do that, you will just want to make sure and not check the "Using Own Label Numbers?" option on the Header tab of the ASN. This way, you will not have to worry about matching items with specific predetermined container ID's. Would that be an option for you?

Couldn't be an option as the WMS cartonizes and assigns the SSCC number and prints the GS1-128 label. Physically marrying up a SPS generated carton label would be cumbersome.

We use a WMS that generates the SSCC labels for us. We have to select the "use your own labels" box and then input the carton number and assign it to the EAN which was put in the box.

I find it amazing in this day and age that there is no way that we can upload this data manually. Even though the EDI is in the works the process offered here is insane.
If the box for using your own labels is checked there should be an option to upload a CSV or XLS with Carton#, EAN #, QTY. Forcing any operation to key the SSCC, Select the EAN from an unsorted list of 500 options and input quantity... my 4 year old would tell you there has to be a better way.
Even an interim solution, anything is better than this but unfortunately this is the only option given.

I definitely understand why you are hoping to make this process more automated. Based on the process that you have described, it sounds like a File Integration solution is a good option for you, so the fact that you have an integrated implementation project under way is a good step. As I explained, WebForms inherently has limitations in terms of how much it can integrate with your existing ERP system, unfortunately.

I like your idea about the "Using Own Label Numbers?" checkbox prompting an option to upload a spreadsheet that would match the carton numbers with the items/quantities. I understand how such a feature would be really helpful in your situation. I would encourage you to submit this feedback as an idea so that our product management team can review it!

Has there been any solution to this? We will be going down this same path as well.
