I have never received training on how to print bar code labels from MSC, and am unable to find the area on SPS where the bar code generator is located. I received a PO in EDI format, but I do not see the option anywhere off of that document either. I do know that my company pays for this service, so would someone be able to direct me on where to look?

Good Morning Megan,

In order to create shipping labels, you will first need to create and save an Advance Ship Notice (ASN) since the shipping labels scan to match the data reflected in the ASN.  From the PO, you will want to click 'next steps' then an ASN option.  Once you save the ASN, you can go to your drafts folder and click 'next steps' from that shipment and click 'shipping label'.

Good morning Paul,

I'm sorry, I wasn't looking for shipping labels; I was looking to print actual bar code labels for my items, as MSC uses different part numbers than we do.

I found under the preferences tab in Webforms that there is a section for labels, but once I put in a number and hit enter, the number turns gray and the only two options I see are to rename the label or delete it.

Is it possible to print item bar codes through SPS?

It doesn't have to look exactly like that, but I would need the bar code, their part number, and our part number.

Hi Megan,

Got a couple things here to help clarify.  The label tab which you saw in preferences is a little bit different that what you were trying to use it for, although, I like your train of thought.  That labels tab is used to coincide with the label column in your inbox/sent/drafts folders.  That can be used for organizing purposes.

The item labels are not available via SPS WebForms. The ASN shipping labels that are created will generate an SSCC barcode.  That will coincide with the data that is sent over allowing MSC to match those with the items/quantities in each pack.  Do you know if MSC requires these additional labels?
