Hi Mac,

Thank you for posting to the SPS Support Center!  As far as understanding whether or not your EDI documents have gone through to your trading partner you will want to reference the status column on the left hand side of your Sent folder.  This column will provide you with icons indicating whether the document has been "Sent", "Sent and Acknowledged", or "Erred".

The first two icons that you will see either resemble a closed envelope or an open sheet of paper.
The closed envelope indicates that the document was sent but not yet acknowledged by the trading partner.  Once the document is acknowledged by the retailer, the icon will then resemble an open sheet of paper.  At this point you will be able to tell that the document was successfully.

In the case that the document had failed in the system, you will see a red question mark as the indicator.  This means that the document had erred and is in need a further attention.

In terms of downloading EDI into a text file we offer a solution called AdHoc Reporting that can be set up to your WebForms at no cost to you.  This application would give you the opportunity to download and view the raw data of all incoming and outgoing documents.  If this is something that interests you please contact our WebForms support team at 1-888-739-3232 Option 1 Option 1 and we will be happy to move forward with that set up.

I hope this information helps!

And how do we know when it was received by the Trading Partner?

Good morning Douglas,

Thank you for your post.  Great question!  By looking in your Sent folder, you can quickly identify a document status.  You will see your document in bold until a 997 (Acknowledgement) has been received from your Trading Partner.  This confirms receipt of the document.  Generally, a 997 is received within 1-3 hours, but can vary by Trading Partner.  If you would prefer not to check your Sent folder (for example, if you sent numerous documents/day), setting up a Dynamic Folder would be a great way to quickly check if there are any documents in the In Transit status.  More information on Dynamic Folders can be found here, specifically on slide 7.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any further questions!
