We consistently have to ask some of our partners to change ship dates, or item QTYs on their POs. This usually occurs AFTER the warehouse has pulled the order and labeled the cartons with the UCC128s printed from the ASN field. As a result, we start the ASN process over and reprint the UC128. Is this necessary? Or can we continue to use the original UC128 labels?

Hi James,

Thanks for your question! If you create a new ASN, you will have to print new labels from this ASN.  The carton IDs on the new labels will be different than the original labels, so in order to ensure that the labels and the ASN data match up, reprinting is the best option.

Hi Jared,

If I understand correctly, the ASN has been sent to your trading partner and the physical shipment has also been sent.

If you were to create a new ASN new label numbers would be assigned and they would no longer match the physical labels.

One option, if it is available in the form is when you first load the ASN, check the option "Using own labels".  This will allow you to take the label numbers from the first ASN and manually enter them in the new ASN.  If the "Using own labels" option is not available I would confirm with your trading partner that they can or can't make the needed changes to the ASN on their end.

If I misunderstood your situation please let me know.
