997 Exception Report

We received an email notification:

This report summarizes all documents sent to your trading partners that have not been acknowledged with a functional acknowledgment (997) and are older than 24 hours.

Since we do not actually send the 997, how do we resolve this issue?

Hi Kristen,

That is a great question.  In most cases, those are generated in our system and sent out to your trading partner.  Are you able to copy that information into this thread?  If not I can send you an email. In the case that they are sent from our system, I can resend those for you.

Hi Kristen,

Looks like these may be unack'd too.  Since this is an outbound doc, this will come from your trading partner.  If you would like I can resend them for you.  That would trigger a new 997 from your trading partner.

Hi, this has happened to me twice this week for the same two 810's for Sports Authority that haven't been acknowledged by 997's - Paul would you be able to resend for me as well?

I will be able to do that for you.  Are you OK with the documents re-posting to your ad-hoc reporting tool.  In order to best transmit the documents, I would like to send them completely through the system again.

I appreciate your help.  I went into both Invoices and they appear to be ok.  Nothing out of the ordinary.  Let me know if I can do anything, like delete and re-create?  I'm just guessing here, but willing to try anything.  thanks again.

Thank you for being so open to ideas.  I actually see 997s for both Invoices following the requeue yesterday, so you are correct, the Invoices did not contain errors.  At this point, it is a matter of why they are still on the report.  I will get that answer and pass it along to you this morning yet!

I have an answer for you.  When the document is retransmitted, it will pick up a new control number (unique number).  The 997 Exception Report is based on control numbers, meaning that the original documents listed above will remain on the report for a total of 7 days. 

Rest assured, both documents have 997s and have been received by your Trading Partner.  Apologies for any confusion this morning, that is great for me to know as well!
