Hello,

Thank you for posting in the Support Center!

I took a look at the data and I see that the error is due to the HL segment reflecting an incorrect hierarchy for the ASN.

What this means is that in the data:
HL*2**O
PRF*PO000172481***20160429
REF*IA*20001814
HL*3*2*I
The first HL line is correct and it reflects the order information communicated below it.  The HL line below that is the incorrect line.  It should read: HL*3**I to reflect the item level information.  If there are two items that need information communicated, it would require a second HL line that reads: HL*3*2*I.  You will need to make that change for the document to go through.

If you have any further questions, let us know and we can open a case for you and look into it further.

Thank you,

SPS Commerce Infinite Retail Power

Katrina,  thanks for the response.  I guess we'll need to open a case for this issue.  The HL coding is populated automatically by our software.  Nothing has changed on the 856 mapping since the testing, and there wasn't a problem then.  Tel: 352-799-5434

Katrina,  I had our software provider look at this problem, and they say my data is correct.  Here's a copy of the email.  Please contact me so this can be resolved.

Dear Dwight,

Thank you for the requested prints.

I read the spec and my understanding is that your 856 document does meet the requirements.

The HL02 element in the item level is correctly identifying the HL Order level to which it is a subordinate.

Additionally, in the specs for the HL Item level it states that the HL02 is a "Must Use" element.
Therefore the HL02 must have a value in it and the software has properly entered a "2" which means that the HL*2**O   is the parent of that Item level segment = HL*3*2*I.

Contact them again and let them know that your 856 document does meet the specs.

See the attachment.

Regards,
Sandy
